Criminal Justice Institute Crime Scene Training Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Criminal Justice Institute, a division of the University of Arkansas System, is seeking qualified applicants for a Crime Scene Training Administrator position. The individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of education and training projects, programs, planning and administrative duties pertaining to the delivery of crime scene courses within the Forensic Sciences and Computer Education Division of the Criminal Justice Institute. Essential duties include the coordination, development and delivery of high quality general and specialized crime scene courses for law enforcement professionals, conducting ongoing research to keep up to date on forensic science technologies and their application to crime scene training; and instruction and monitoring of courses. This position requires frequent travel statewide. A criminal history background check is required for this position. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or greater in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or related field. A minimum of ten years experience working in a crime scene capacity in a law enforcement agency with at least three years at the supervisory level (five years preferred). Experience working major crimes is required. Must possess experience in the areas of training, education, research or project development and implementation. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include PowerPoint is also required. Must be qualified for law enforcement standards and training instructor certification and have proven instructional ability. Current instructor certification preferred. Experience in computer crime scene applications and International Association for Identification or International Crime Scene Investigators Association Certification preferred. Qualified candidates may be required to provide an instructional presentation. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. SALARY: Upper $40,000’s to low $50,000’s depending upon experience and qualifications. CLOSING DATE: This position will remain opened until filled.
